I’m the host of Nerd Nite Pittsburgh. Think of it as a combination of TED Talks and comedy, hosted live (usually at Spirit in Lawrenceville, but sometimes at exciting places like the Pittsburgh Glass Center), with drinks, food, and great vibes.
We also help nerds (and ordinary humans, but I’d argue they’re almost all nerds about something) make friends. To that end, we host a speed-friending game at the beginning of every event where a web app rotates folks to a new conversation with a stranger every 5 minutes.
Nerd Nite is a global organization, and we even have a book featuring one of the talks I delivered at Nerd Nite Pittsburgh back when I first got involved!
